Raw Sushi

I saw this video on Diana Stobo's site recently.  It is the perfect  meal to make if you're looking for food on the go..  It is easy to make, takes a few seconds to put together and is very nutritious.

I could not find raw Nori,   but I will have some soon.  I am currently using Roasted Nori.  Nori has tons of benefits. It is rich in vitamins and minerals.  It also contains about a third the daily value of protein.

I made these for dinner last night and loved it.

I use hummus for my base,   then use various veggies for my filling.

Once you have your filling,  start rolling.  tuck your veggies in tightly and roll,  when you're just about done,   wet the last centimeter of Nori and hold tight for a second or two.  That will seal your Sushi.

I made two of these for lunch and was quite full.

Veggies I used are:
Carrots
Celery
Bean Sprouts
Cucumber
Garden Lettuce

For dinner I made wraps again, but I used Romaine lettuce instead.  I added a few Banana peppers for a little extra tang.

My favorite snack

The key to  living a raw food lifestyle, I believe is to being satisfied by what you eat.   You can see by my blog what a typical day is like, food wise.

One of my absolutely favorite snacks has to be Raw Oats, soaked in Almond milk. This is one of those snacks you can take to work in a container,  leave in your drawer or refrigerator and simply enjoy when you're ready to.

I love Better Oats Raw and Simple

    • USDA Organic
    • 41 grams of whole grains per serving
    • 200 mg of ALA Omega-3 per serving
    • Organic whole grains: Oats, Barley, Quinoa, Rye, Wheat
    • Organic whole flaxseeds
    • Good source of Fiber

The nutritional info on this:

These oats are relatively inexpensive, easy to store as they come in individual pouches and it has whole flax seeds.  Now you know, whole flax seeds are difficult to digest.  But, soaked in Almond Milk, they soften and puff out.   I absolutely love this as a snack.  I know, you're thinking Oats should be cooked, served with sugar and milk.  Trust me on this. Try it, you will not be sorry.

Remember: Failing to plan is planning to fail.
